The car transmission lock is a mechanical security locking system for vehicles which locks the gearshift lever and preventing its movement into any driving gear. The lock is permanently mounted to car. The lock mechanism is clearly visible from outside the vehicle. Security can be supplemented by adding electronic security systems, such as alarms systems and immobilizers. With or without additional electronic systems, the lock provides a full security solution for most cars with floor-mounted gearshift levers, both manual and automatic, or some types of steering column gearshift levers.

The lock is fixed to the floor of the vehicle and secured with tamper proof nuts; yet it does not damage or deface the interior of the vehicle in any way. The lock has a decorative cover, which includes a shackle holder for storing the shackle while driving. The lock consists of a lock attached to a bracket secured to the vehicles chassis. The mounting bracket is adaptable to any make and model vehicle. For some vehicles universal or standard brackets can be used. For other vehicles, the bracket must be adapted to the shape of the specific vehicle using a bending machine. The factors to be considered are the shapes of the vehicle interior and chassis and the forms and positions of the console, gearshift lever, and floor.

HOW TO INSTALL:

Locate the best location and position the lock. Consider the following factors:

1. The location of the gearshift lever, seats, internal accessories, etc.
2. For vehicles with manual transmission choose REVERSE gearshift position for installation. If REVERSE position is not feasible, choose the 5th gear position.
3. For vehicles with automatic transmission choose the PARKING position only.
4. To maintain the best possible appearance of the vehicle interior, the bracket should pass through the plastic gearshift console. In some cases where it is not possible to pass through the console, the bracket may be passed outside the console to the vehicle floor. Select the correct bracket shape to the vehicle model. The 4 square holes at the bottom of the bracket must be flush with the floor of the vehicle. Examine the general installation area from the underside of the vehicle. Check for interfering parts (tubes, pipes, etc.) You may need to remove the heat shield of the exhaust system.

COMPLETING THE INSTALLATION:

1. In case of removal of the exhaust shield remember to assemble it back after completing the installation.
